TITLE Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR Head Strength/Conditioning Coach

GENERAL FUNCTION
The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for the implementation and management of individual and group strength training programs for  Summit High School student-athletes participating in the athletics program under the supervision of the Head Strength/Conditioning Coach.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably with an emphasis in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Physical Education. S&C and other relevant Certifications are encouraged but can be acquired during employment.

Experience: Experience is required in positions involving the supervision of sport-specific and/or strength training programs for high school aged student-athletes. Experience with development and management of strength training programs at the is preferred. Any experience in management of a health/fitness or weight training facility is preferred. Student-athlete experience, in any sport at the high school or collegiate, is preferred.

Skills: Excellent communication skills, supervisory and management skills are required. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other genders, cultures, or backgrounds is required.

License: Certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or through the National High School Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (NHSSCA) must be attained within one calendar year of the date of hire. Current CPR/First Aid certifications required and must be maintained throughout the course of employment in this position.

Effort: Scope of the positions requires the ability to perform and/or demonstrate various physical strength exercises, and to assist others performing those exercises.

Other: The scope of the position requires frequent evening and early morning work.

SUPERVISION

The Assistant Strength/Conditioning Coach is supervised by the Head Strength/Conditioning Coach with input from athletic coaches and exercises supervision of student assistants.
Assists in maintaining the strength and conditioning equipment and facility.

Primary role with summer program (10hrs/week) and  to take over strength and conditioning for certain teams during the school year.

NOTE: This is a part time stipend position paying approximately $4,000-6,000 depending on experience.
