SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: Troubleshoot, operate and maintain all district

facilities systems and equipment to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all

students, staff, and visitors. Assist in making sound decisions regarding work

schedules, contractor involvement, and cost effectiveness of building

improvements/changes.

  1. Develop, implement and manage the District preventive maintenance

program including scheduling, monitoring and participating in the

program and making appropriate changes to the system to ensure all

equipment is

properly documented.

 

  1. Operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair/replace the District's

direct digital control (DDC) and pneumatic control systems including

hardware such as logic cards, main boards, valve/damper actuators,

relays, sensors, etc. and software including control logic and

programming. Respond to after hours emergencies and/or service

calls related to DDC systems.

 

  1. Operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair/replace the District HVAC

systems, equipment and controls associated with them, including

air handling units, fan coil units, unit ventilators, variable air volume

systems, boilers, pumps, variable frequency drives, valves,

dampers, etc. Respond to after hours emergencies and/or

service calls related to HVAC systems.

 

  1. In a lead role, assist other trades personnel in the performance of

their duties by helping them in reparations to plumbing, carpentry,

carpeting, etc., with mechanical/electrical systems and/or by offering

technical advice.

 

  1. In a lead role, train and direct other classified personnel on the

operation of District systems, including DDC,

HVAC, electrical systems and plumbing systems.

 

  1. Determine, develop, implement and manage service contracts with

various contractors/vendors to ensure the District has technical

support for a series of highly technical systems and ensure the

systems have the proper

software and hardware uo2:rades to keep the systems current.

 

  1. Pre-engineer, design and implement all DDC and HVAC equipment

modifications and retro-fits recommended to and aooroved by the

Facility Director, including managin_g outsourced projects.

 

  1. Operate snow removal equipment in the performance of snow

removal duties for parking lots.

 

  1. Prepare the preliminary budget for the District's mechanical

requirements and recommend budget needs to the Facility Director.

 

  1. Work with construction design teams throughout construction

processes to ensure the District's best interests are accommodated.

 

  1. Demonstrates the commitment to build and maintain a safe, fair and

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus technical courses in HVAC and microcomputers
  • Ten years of experience or combined experience/education with HVAC and direct digital

control systems, preferable Siemens Apogee System 600

  • Experience with all phases of facilities operations and maintenance, including general

maintenance, plumbing and electrical systems

  • HVAC preferred
