Plans instruction and assessment around career and technical education program components within the health sciences pathway.  Courses taught include various introductions to the medical profession; Health Sciences I, Medical Terminology, Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), and Health Sciences II (Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) preparation),  and are designed to build knowledge and clinical skills within various health science careers.  

Emergency Medical Responder: This course introduces students to life saving interventions to patients who access the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system. Individuals certified at this level have the basic knowledge and skills required to provide care to patients while awaiting the arrival of an ambulance, and to assist higher level providers at the scene and while enroute to the hospital.

Instructor must have occupational experience within the health sciences/emergency medical responder.

Teaching licensure obtainable through Colorado Department of Education CTE authorization to applicants who meet the educational and occupational requirements.
