SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: Under general direction from the Chief Financial Officer, assists in the development of the District’s overall budget and financial plan, including development, management, analysis, and implementation of budgetary matters and financial management policy.

- Assists in the development of the District’s overall Financial Plan and Budget. Including advising schools and departments on budget development and analysis to increase the efficiency of District spending.
- Assists in the creation and further development of Financial Services manual and recommends updates to policies and procedures as needed.

Assists Chief Financial Officer by providing research, data analysis, cost-benefit analysis and expenditure, and revenue forecasting. Prepares financial reports including variance analysis of budgeted versus actual
expenditures.
- Assists with projecting future financial needs and collaborates with Chief Financial Officer and other management personnel to prepare long-term financial plans, and other budget and financial reports.
- Executes transactions within the integrated budget, accounting, and purchasing system, which may include purchase requisition, contract payment vouchers, budget data entry and revisions, and salary and budget imports
- Oversees and compares departmental expenditures to original budget
- Posts authorized cash receipts and journal entries into the computer
- Attends and actively participates in committees, professional groups and seminars to stay current regarding new developments and trends in budgeting and finance.
- Provides information and answers to departments regarding budgets, forecasts, surveys, financial trends and other requested data
- Assist Chief Financial Officer in preparing multi-media presentations for the Board, staff and community
- Assist with District annual audit procedures and prepare audit work papers as needed.

Assist with the preparation of budget and financial reports for federal, state and county grants.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field or equivalent experience of at least five years of experience in school finance.
- Two or more years of experience in accounting and /or office management
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- High-level skills in communication, organization, and budgeting
