Description | The Long-Term Substitute School Psychologist will provide temporary psychological services to support students, families, and school staff in the absence of the regular school psychologist. This position involves conducting assessments, providing counseling, and supporting behavioral interventions, ensuring the continuity of services for students. This postion is full time and covers two elementary schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessments: Administer psycho-educational assessments and provide reports on students’ cognitive, emotional, and academic needs.
- Counseling: Offer individual and small group counseling to support students’ emotional well-being and social skills.
- Behavioral Support: Work with teachers to implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and classroom strategies.
- Consultation: Collaborate with school staff and parents to address student needs and provide guidance on psychological support.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support during emotional or behavioral crises and assist with intervention plans.
- Record Keeping: Maintain confidential records including IEPs in compliance with school policies and regulations.
