POSITION TITLE: District Website Administrator [Part Time] (0.5 FTE)  

 

REPORTS TO: Director of Communications and Public Relations 

 

SUPERVISES: N/A            

             

POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

The District Website Administrator will lead the District website redesign and development process by curating, designing and maintaining online content and branding, including images, text and video. This position is responsible for managing the development District and all school websites while ensuring the sites and content shared promotes the District mission, vision and goals, and increases the District’s brand visibility, outreach and connection to the public.

  • Development of new District website platform and all subpages for the District and all school websites.
  • Coordinate with District departments, school administrators, secretaries and others to develop and post all pages and content.
  • Works with Director of Communications and Public Relations to develop and implement a rollout strategy, designs content and scheduling, tracks performance, documents procedures, and implements necessary changes
  • Creates multimedia content to develop a visually engaging website. Proficiency with video and photo editing tools and digital media formats.
  • Responsible for monitoring trending topics in K-12 education and digital content while finding unique ways to integrate them into the District brand (as/if applicable)
  • Works with all District departments and schools to refine messaging on respective topics and resolve usability issues while coordinating with Translation Services to develop and maintain bilingual content
  • Design, test, publish, review and update web page content or links in a timely manner, using appropriate tools
  • Manage the day-to-day functionality of the website by developing work processes to ensure the execution of content updates
  • Maintain standards, guidelines, accessibility, and content specifications to ensure overall quality and consistency of websites and content
  • Confer with content managers and recommend improvements to assure high quality, accessibility, consistency, and accuracy in the content of online resources
  • Provide training, develop documentation, and provide timely troubleshooting and technical support for content managers
  • Maintaining social calendars and communicating with district staff
  • Producing social content across channel (instagram, FB, tiktok, linkedin, youtube): video (off site at schools), graphics, copy, posting, monitoring performance, interacting, commenting, sharing
  • Graphic design for website and marketing collateral (decks, flyers, etc)
  • Updating, maintaining website, staff web training and being point of contact with school web admins
  • Other communication projects as needed
  • Develop and document style guidelines, application and change procedures, best practices, and work processes and responsibilities for ongoing website revisions
  • Responsible for responding to and generating traffic to online content while tracking and analyzing website usage data
  • Model leadership that demonstrates a commitment to create and maintain a safe, fair and respectful working and learning environment that honors diversity in all its forms for our scholars, staff and families
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:           

 

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with website development or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Prior experience in educational multi-media communications preferred
  • Knowledge of computer technology and website platforms is required
  • Demonstrated experiences and knowledge of social media platforms
  • Ability to create and deliver creative multi-media content with a focus on UX and UI
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics and social media KPIs/web traffic metrics
  • Ability to coordinate, disseminate and communicate essential information to diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with web design
