Plans instruction and assessment around career and technical education program components within the health sciences pathway.  Courses taught include various introductions to the medical profession; Health Sciences I, Medical Terminology, Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), and Health Sciences II (Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) preparation),  and are designed to build knowledge and clinical skills within various health science careers.  

 

Health Science I: This course introduces students to the nine pathways that make up the health science cluster. In addition, students are provided a hands-on application of the foundational skills/ knowledge including health maintenance, employability skills, teamwork, healthcare systems, communications, and legal issues in healthcare.

 

 

Instructor must have occupational experience within the health sciences/emergency medical responder.

Teaching licensure obtainable through Colorado Department of Education CTE authorization to applicants who meet the educational and occupational requirements.
