Position is 19 hours per week

 

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the safety and well-being of students, staff and visitors at the school. Duties include supervising and monitoring students within and outside the school building, during lunch and in in-school and after-school suspension; communicating with administrators and students regarding issues and/or behavior; enforcing appropriate student behavior; and monitoring student attendance.

Frequency

1.  Supervise student behavior before, during and after school, during class changes and during lunch.

2. Manage disorderly students by interceding in student altercations, enforcing school rules and disciplinary plans and reporting disruptive and/or inappropriate actions to administrators.

 

3. Supervise and guide student behavior and flow during the lunch period.

4. Oversee the behavior and work of students in in-school suspension, detentions and homework clubs.

5. Communicate with students to foster trust; open lines of communication; and enforce, model and/or instruct on appropriate student behavior.

6. Assist teachers in classroom by assisting with student supervision and helping students set goals to complete assignments.

7. Assist administration with fire and emergency drills.

 

8. Use visual system and investigate student behavior

 

9. Monitor halls, grounds and common spaces to ensure students are in class and/or have reason to be out of class.

10. Demonstrates the commitment to build and maintain a safe, fair and respectful working  and  learning environment that honors the cultural diversity of students and staff.

11. Compile Lunch  Bunch  lists  for lunch  interventions  and  after school  support.  Hanging  lists  in  halls  and communities. Emailing students and parents and sending out calls for after school academic support.
